My name is Mrs. Allyson Peck. This is my 5rd year teaching at HWMS. However this is my 15th year teaching overall. Amazingly enough when I was in middle school math was my least favorite subject. It's ironic that I now love math and have found a passion for teaching it. I do feel that my struggles with math in middle school help me relate to students having the same difficulties as I had to find a way to overcome them.
I live in Rose Hill (about 20 minutes East of Haysville) with my husband, Stuart, and our 4 kids! Our son, Austin in a Senior this year. Then we have two Sophomores, our daughter Logan and son Ben. Then the littlest is Jaxson who is in 1st grade. We also have 3 dogs and a cat. It's pretty crazy around our house!
I started teaching August 2006 for Derby Public Schools (4th grade). After a couple years in Derby I moved to Wichita Public Schools and taught 5th grade for 7 years before moving to Hamilton Middle School and Brooks Middle School where I began teaching math at the Middle Level.
I love school and continuing to learn, so I’ve been to several colleges over my educational career! My heart still resides in Manhattan where I attended undergrad school (Go Wildcats!). I also have a master’s degree from Newman University in Wichita (Go Jets!). Over my educational career I have also been enrolled/taken classes at Wichita State (Go Shox!)
